Dhime Baja Classes Begin for New Learners

Newa Guthi Victoria began its weekly Dhime Baja classes for new learners on 19 April 2025, creating an opportunity for community members to learn, practise and connect with an important part of Newa musical heritage.
The classes were guided by Aryan and Rajan Guru, who shared their knowledge and skills with new learners in a supportive and engaging environment. The sessions aimed to encourage the next generation to learn traditional Newa music while building confidence, participation and community connection.
The launch of the classes marked another important step in Newa Guthi Victoria’s commitment to preserving and passing on Newa cultural traditions through regular learning and community participation.
