About Us

About Newa Guthi Victoria

Newa Guthi Victoria is a community organisation dedicated to preserving, celebrating and sharing Newa culture, heritage and community life in Victoria.

We bring people together through festivals, rituals, language, food, music, volunteering and programs that help Newa identity remain active across generations. Our work is community-led, practical and grounded in respect for the people who continue these traditions.

Our purpose

Our purpose is to create a strong and welcoming Newa community in Victoria, while helping younger generations understand the stories, values and practices that shape Newa heritage.

What we value

• Respect for culture, heritage and elders
• Opportunities for young people to participate and lead
• Inclusive community gatherings for families and friends
• Careful preservation of traditions in a modern Australian context
• Open contribution from members, volunteers and supporters

Through membership, events and community programs, Newa Guthi Victoria continues to build a place where culture is not only remembered, but lived.
