Pako Festa Geelong 2025

Newa Guthi Victoria proudly participated in Pako Festa Geelong 2025, marking an important milestone as the organisation’s first street performance for the wider community.
Members of the Newa community joined the festival with a vibrant Dhime Baja community rally, bringing the distinctive rhythms and energy of Newa traditional music to the streets of Geelong.
The performance provided an opportunity to share Newa music, cultural pride and heritage with the wider Geelong community and festival audiences. The powerful Dhime rhythms created an energetic atmosphere and helped introduce the traditions of the Kathmandu Valley to people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
The participation also brought Newa Guthi Victoria members and volunteers together in a spirit of cultural pride, teamwork and community engagement.
As the first street performance by Newa Guthi Victoria, the occasion represented an important step in the organisation’s journey to promote, preserve and share Newa culture across Victoria.
